"Stressproof Online is a phenomenal way to learn, practice, and (hopefully) adopt the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the stress of the modern world. Although the "modern world" is changing so quickly that phrase is always out of date, Stressproof Online taught me that my responses to our current moment actually start with biological processes that date back thousands of years. As a professor, I always hope I can approach a situation with an intellectual response and Stressproof Online has helped me to…”

"With increasing work and personal pressures on employees, the BCBSNC Employee Wellness program has increased our focus on stress management. In 2016, we hosted Stress Proof classes with instructor Glenn Murphy with our employees as a new way to learn how to cope with the inevitable daily triggers for stress. Glenn’s class is interactive, informative, and provides a new way to think about how and why our bodies react to stress and what to do to better prepare for the stress in our lives. We hosted 8 classes with Glenn in 2016 through department level trainings. Our employees loved the sessions and felt that they learned hands on ways to battle daily stress."

"Most useful was that the lessons were accompanied by exercises that help you fully understand the concept because you are learning the "what, how and why" of stress and then you are immediately practicing a technique that is relevant to that particular topic. I think that way of presenting the material is very effective for the learner. "Learn" and then "do" (which is just a deeper learning). Also, having the exercises repeat for days and weeks was key to really building the habits and fully comprehending and embodying the process. Another useful part of this way of presenting information was that we could all do the lessons on our own time as it fit into our personal schedules…”
"This course provides a framework for understanding the nature of stress, it's effect on us, and our own role in dealing with it effectively.
Other frameworks offer different approaches, but I found this course useful primarily because of the notion that it is possible to soothe the limbic system through actions taken by the rational neocortex.
I have taken stress-related training before, (Heart Math, for example, and systema), that sought to teach how to bring your pulse rate and breathing in line with a more relaxed state. Not much of this is really new to me, but the relation between the limbic system and neocortex and…”
"This course has help me understand how the body interprets stress triggers. It's also helped me understand how practices like Systema help map experiences that in turn help calm the stress response. The more we do S.I.T then the more we can calm ourselves down more quickly, especially if others around us need help. I really enjoyed learning about co-regulation. Wow - very interesting. I hate this class is wrapping up - next steps are to continue the practice. Thanks to Glenn and all the training partners - life changing material!"
